Is My Air Conditioner Killing Me?

It's hot down here in South Florida and many people run their ac systems every day all year long. Where we live in Broward county we run ours from April through November most years. There have been times we have had to run it in January.

For many years we owned and operated a duct cleaning company that serviced the tri-county area and many times people wanted to know if in fact their ac was hurting their health. Many times the answer was yes. We happen to agree with Dr. Mendell.  

“If you have a badly maintained or badly designed AC system, whether it’s in your home or office or vehicle, it can become contaminated and potentially harmful,” says Dr. Mark Mendell, an epidemiologist with the California Department of Public Health. Click here for rest of Time's article
